RTI Console Requirements

The RTI Console is the user interface for gathering and analyzing collected performance data and requires a Java runtime version 1.5 or newer installed.

The RTI Console is currently supported on Windows only, support for Linux will be available in the near fture.

The RTI Console requires PostgreSQL, an open-source database application, be installed on the same workstation as the console.  There are multiple options for installing postgres:

  • RTI Console installation can automatically download and install postgres as part of the install.
  • OC Systems provides a postgres installation that can be installed prior to the RTI Console.
  • Download and install the latest postgres installation from http://www.postgresql.org/.

Performance Collectors

RTI provides a number of Performance Collectors  for measuring Application performance across the Enterprise. Current supported Collectors are listed below.

  • Monitoring JBoss and Tomcat: RTI supports performance monitoring of any JBoss Platform – Community or Enterprise Edition – or Tomcat Server, run with Java 5 or Higher.

  • Monitoring End User Experience: RTI supports monitoring end-user experience – from "click" to "render" – in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. Because of Firefox's aggressive release schedule the RTI plugin for Firefox may not be supported on the cutting edge versions. If you are having problems, or would like to request support for a newer version, please contact us at

  • Monitoring Custom Java Applications: In general, RTI can collect performance data on any java application that uses Java 5 or higher. If you would like support on using RTI to measure a Custom Java Application that does not run in JBoss or Tomcat, please contact us at.

  • Monitoring Native Applications: Combined with the use of OC Systems' Aprobe, RTI supports monitoring custom and COTS native applications, please contact us at for information on native application diagnostics.

Please contact us at  with any additional questions.

JBoss Operations Network and RHQ

RTI Currently Supports Integration with RHQ v4.1 through the RHQ plugin Architecture.  Information on plugin installation and configuration is available in our documentation.

Support for JBoss Operations Network will be available soon.
